Dress can communicate our values, ideas, identity, and politics, individually, or as a society. It is invaluable to our concept of life in the 21st century. I continue to research, understand and explore these meanings, however I feel strongly that they are not just limited to those who are interested in “fashion” or “art,” especially on an academic level. My interest and specialism is particularly in 1920’s and 30’s dress, especially analysing the fashion of strong, independent women, in addition to surrealist photography. However I aim for this to be a space in which it can be discussed and understood in a wider context of life whilst broadening my own subject area. Plus a few silly things, like my obsessive bake-well tart eating along the way.
